Automatically Save Project Backup
The AutoSave facility provides a contingency option in case a Project is unable to be saved for any reason when working in the App Studio.
If enabled, the facility will save a copy of the current Project to a file at pre-set time intervals. When a Project is saved correctly, the backup file is deleted. However, if for some reason you can't save the Project, for example in the event of a system failure, the last backup taken will remain. When you next open the Project in App Studio, the program will check for the presence of the backup file and if it finds it, you will be given the choice of opening the backup instead of the Project file.
The AutoSave feature is controlled via the Mode option on the General tab of the App Studio Settings. This option allows you to enable/disable AutoSave and to choose one of the pre-set time intervals for backups being taken. By default, the option is enabled with a time interval of 5 minutes.
When enabled, the Project is checked at the specified time interval for any changes. If the Project has changed a copy of it is saved to a file with the file name:
<projectname>.xfs.autosave
in the Project folder, by default:
C:\Users\<user>\Documents\NDL Software\Digitise Apps\Projects\<projectname>
